I don't own this webtoon at all. All rights for the images go to the author but the belong to me. YES! I finally finished it. You can't imagine the countless struggles I went thru with this. I think my computer restarted itself at least 3 times while I was working on this, which means I had to re-do it every time, haa~
I´ll publish the english translation of mangas I like to read that I can´t find in english. I won't be taking requests, else there won't be an end. I also don't have a release schedule I'm not a group and I ask you not to pressure me too much, I do it because I want to. I know I´m slow ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Wow we finally know the incident behind Inho's feelings... It's so sad... The pictures of Sul and Jung are the same, same faces, same expressions... I think Inho regrets the way things turned with Jung; Thank you for translating.
ReplyDeleteOh my god! They were friends and they did care for each other in an extent.
ReplyDeleteBut what doesn't surprise me is that there were misunderstandings EVERYWHERE.
Because Inho vaules straightforwardness, he couldn't understand why Jung is the way he is internally. Jung's always thought that he's the "weird" one because of the way he treats others who wronged him and the people he cares about.
Inho, after years of knowing Jung he couldn't get past the HUGE BARRIER filled with emotional and maybe mental trauma Jung's been feeling all of his life. Jung feels betrayed by Inho (in some form or fashion, I couldn't understand but I might understand if I re-read parts of it) and wants to cut ties with his only best friend by ignoring his feelings and seeing things in a rational/ logical manner.
Jung doesn't understand (and still doesn't) understand that he's also at fault. In my opinion, because he put out such a huge wall between himself and others, Inho is a person who wears his heart on his sleeve while Jung keeps his feelings ALWAYS in check and in control if he can help it. He feels victimized by others and lashes out by using other people to do the "dirty work" or they pay the price in a ruined reputation or in other shapes and forms.
So for now, there's a HUGE AS FUCK WALL and a bridge they both have to cross in order to understand and empathize with each other. Inho knows that what he did was wrong (speaking without thinking and having that rumor spread like wildfire and talking to himself that Jung was weird. A trigger work for Jung, Inho wouldn't have KNOWN AT ALL). But he's still struggling to understand the man behind the mask.
Jung refuses to see that some of these events were his fault and puts the blame STRAIGHT ON INHO, WHICH IS BAD, VERY VERY BAD. He perpetuates the misunderstanding that he was at fault for ruining Inho's hand by talking to Chopin (the VERY MENTALLY DISTURBED KID in the flashback) and feels the need to NOT clear it up & explain himself. SO MUCH DRAMA!
I think Jung feels betrayed because he thought of duo Baeks as his friends. He truly cared for them. But you see in the previous chapters (I forgot) Jung's parents were arguing about how weird Jung is and Jung happened to heard that. The next day he saw and realized the Baeks visited his house very often, too often even. So he connected the dots and he finally came to realize that the Baeks were his dad's informants, to monitor him everywhere.... because his dad thinks he's weird.
DeleteHe values his dad so he doesn't want the Baeks to 'steal' his dad from him. That's why Jung was extremely furious when he heard rumors that Baeks are his dad's childrens (biologically) because he thought they were trying to stole his father from him. That's his line. His family and now, Seol.
Yuki Minamoto, your explanation is very insightful and very helpful. Thank you. At first I thought Chopin was a nickname for Inho, but I got that straightened out. But I still don't understand why five bullies had to beat the crap out of him. Also, I don't see how what Inho thought was so bad, if the father said to him, "Think of me as your father." I guess it angered Jung because it was a threatening thought to him. All so sad, and I still blame the father for all the misunderstandings.
ReplyDeleteI think Jung is tired of explaining himself he has this "why bother" kind of attitude since he feels that Inho is going to blow it out of proportion anyway. He probably also feels like none of his emotions and thoughts are his own anymore. So many years of living under a microscope could mind numbing. So he habitually suppresses everything.
ReplyDeleteWhen i first read this, I admit I actually had doubt that Jung may have been involved in this incident. Going through it again, it is obvious that chopin was feeling inferior and that feeling was magnified by inho's callous and unintentionally thoughtless behaviour. Jung really had no hand in this and I don't think smiled. Inho was traumatised and wanted to blame someone. Jung was the perfect target for this.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what happened to chopin tho, did inho murder him and was on the run all these years? Lol.
